The Opportunity

We're looking for a remote Buyer Planner to own material planning, supplier coordination, and inventory execution within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Operating at the center of procurement, production, and logistics, you'll keep production running smoothly by balancing inventory, managing supplier performance, and solving supply issues before they disrupt operations.

What You'll Do

Material Planning & Procurement

  • Execute daily purchasing to support production schedules
  • Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and subassemblies
  • Manage and adjust open orders based on production needs

Supplier Management

  • Coordinate with suppliers on on-time delivery and expedite urgent orders
  • Build strong supplier relationships and track performance

Inventory & Exception Handling

  • Optimize inventory levels to avoid excess and shortages
  • Monitor ERP/MRP exception messages and resolve disruptions early
  • Manage returns for damaged or excess materials

Data & Cross-Functional Support

  • Maintain ERP/MRP data: lead times, safety stock, reorder points, and supplier records
  • Partner with Production, Logistics, Warehouse, and Quality teams
  • Contribute to S&OP and forecasting processes

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 3+ years in buyer planning, supply chain, or inventory management
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities independently

Preferred:

  • Background in automotive or industrial manufacturing
  • APICS CPIM certification (or similar)
  • Experience with Syteline or similar ERP platforms
  • Understanding of S&OP processes
