We are looking for a Business Valuation Associate to help clients understand the value of their business, securities, intellectual property, capital equipment, intangibles and other assets under the direction of a Senior Associate, Supervisor or Manager. The Business Valuation Associate must know the basic valuation methods - income approach, market approach and cost approach. Relevant experience from the Big 4 or any of the investment banking companies is a must. You should work well in a team environment with shifting priorities, and be passionate about the achievement of work output with integrity and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Identifies issues and proposes approaches related to the valuation procedures performed.
- Works closely with the professional services group involving accounting, finance, tax, management, investment bankers, investors, and other key stakeholders.
- Maintains positive, productive, and professional relationships with client personnel and colleagues.
- Participate in other ad hoc tasks, as applicable
- Tasks will cover key valuation concepts and approach using the following general methods:
- Discounted cash flows or income approach
- Comparative market approach
- Adjusted NAV or cost approach
- Purchase price allocations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, economics or finance.
- Preferably with at least 1 year experience in business valuation or other finance-related fields.
- Preferably with Big 4 accounting firm background or transaction services experience from investment banks.
- Preferably with basic excel skills involving financial modeling and business valuation.
- CPA or CFA certifications are a plus.
- Transaction support experience involving M&A is a plus.
- Practical knowledge of Black-Scholes, Lattice models, Monte Carlo simulation and other valuation tools and techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of industry research including tools used such as Pitchbook or Capital IQ is a plus.
- Must be a self-starter and proactive in advancing personal learning to handle complicated and multiple valuation engagements.
- Must be comfortable working with foreign clients.
- Must possess good business writing and speaking skills.
