Job Description

The Business Unit Head is responsible for the alignment of Sales and Marketing strategies to the overall business plans of the organization. The role includes proper planning, forecasting, merchandising, marketing and formulation of sales and operations policies to further enhance company objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Management

  • Develops and implements business strategies that will help in attaining short term and long-term business objectives.
  • Leads the team in the strategic planning process and communicates the organization's short- and long-term objectives.
  • Conceptualizes, formulates and implements marketing strategies taking into consideration customer profile, resource structure, major vendors, market/fashion trends, items and price points.

Market Development

  • Understands and analyzes relevant data from market and industry analysis, in relation to the components of the marketing plan per brand.
  • Identifies new market segments and target customers.
  • Conceptualizes programs and activities that drive the market and expand customer base and volume.
  • Identifies the best appropriate medium to utilize for the promotion of specific products or for brand building.

Sales Planning

  • Ensures overall sales targets are met through proper planning, forecasting, merchandising, marketing and coordination with support services groups.
  • Develops and implements a sales plan to achieve sales objectives.
  • Recommends sales policies and procedures to further improve & motivate sales force and to further enhance company objectives of maximizing sales and minimizing costs.

Forecasting

  • Analyzes pertinent data (i.e., market trend, seasonality, economy, buying behavior, volume and revenue analysis) and uses this data in allocating volume forecasts to the different channels of distribution.

Financial Management

  • Analyzes the impact of business results to the company's financial objectives and makes necessary action or recommendation to the management on how to achieve or increase profit.

Merchandising

  • Analyzes merchandise plan and purchase budget and proposes decrease or increase in budget vis-à-vis sales objectives or inventory coverage.
  • Evaluates and assesses inventory systems, identifying weaknesses for modification and improvement.

Human Capital/ General Management

  • Develops, designs and establishes structures, systems and processes to most effectively achieve the organization's objectives.
  • Manages and directs job responsibilities of immediate staff and allocate work accordingly.
  • Evaluates and ensures right sizing in the SBU.
  • Initiates KRA contracting and administers performance appraisal to all concerned employees in the SBU.

Job Qualifications

Education Attainment

  • Bachelor's degree, any related course preferably with post graduate studies or units (MBA)

Qualifications

  • At least five (6) years relevant work experience in a managerial or similar capacity
  • Possesses business acumen
  • Innovative, creative and analytical
  • Process and systems oriented
  • Possesses critical thinking
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent in oral and written communication skills
