The Power BI Analyst (Business System Analyst) will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving business dashboards and reporting tools to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role requires strong technical expertise in Power BI, data modeling, and ERP data structures, combined with the ability to analyze large datasets and produce clear, actionable insights.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing full reporting lifecycles from data extraction and transformation to dashboard design, automation, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Update, enhance, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting assets.
- Conduct data analysis to support performance tracking, forecasting, and operational decision-making.
- Generate recurring and ad hoc reports based on business needs.
- Manage end-to-end report development, including data sourcing, cleansing, modeling, and visualization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
- Validate data accuracy and troubleshoot inconsistencies across systems and reports.
- Work with ERP and BI platforms to extract and structure datasets for reporting use.
- Automate manual reporting processes where possible to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Monitor data refreshes, dashboard performance, and report integrity.
- Deliver insights in a clear, business-friendly manner, supporting stakeholders with interpretation as needed.
- Maintain documentation for datasets, reporting structures, measures, and dashboards.
- Stay current on Power BI features, data analytics best practices, and BI methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in BI reporting, data analysis, financial/operational analytics, or a similar function.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, Power Query, and dashboard design.
- Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience handling large datasets.
- Ability to translate complex data into meaningful visualizations and insights.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SQL, Python, or advanced Excel functionality.
- Background in financial, operational, or distribution-related reporting.
- Familiarity with revenue models, pricing mechanisms, chargebacks, or rebates.
- Experience improving reporting workflows, automation, or BI frameworks.
