Job Overview

Employment type: Full time

Shift: Day Shift, within business hours (8:30 AM to 5:30 PM ACST), Monday to Friday, Weekends Off

Work setup: Onsite, Megatower, Ortigas

The Qualifications We Seek

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CA or CPA qualified (e.g., CA ANZ / CPA Australia or equivalent); Philippine CPA highly regarded
  • Minimum 7 years of practical experience in Business Services or Public Practice, including review responsibilities and team leadership exposure
  • Experience working with global service organizations or collaborative offshore/onshore accounting teams
  • Ability to monitor and report on performance using SLAs and KPIs
  • Experience with case management or accounting practice systems
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively

Desirable

  • Experience working with Australian accounting firms or Australian lodgement calendars
  • Exposure to business advisory or consulting work
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior accounting professionals
  • Experience with Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF) and tax planning opportunities related to superannuation

Technology

  • Strong understanding of taxation legislation, regulatory requirements, and GST compliance
  • Experience using practice management systems, MAS, AST, and tax preparation tools
  • Experience with MYOB, Quicken, QuickBooks, Xero, and Class
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Experience with tools such as Visio, HowNow, PDF Editors, BGL, CAS, or similar corporate compliance/document management systems

  • Demonstrated effective management of internal and external relationships including partners, staff, and clients

Your Daily Tasks

Client Relationships

  • Support client relationship development and collaborate with onshore teams to deliver consistent, high-quality service
  • Manage relationships for larger clients when required or where no existing manager is assigned
  • Act as an alternate point of contact when an existing manager is unavailable
  • Coordinate multi-team or multi-division client engagements where required
  • Identify cross-divisional opportunities that add value to client engagements
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and stakeholders regarding scope, timelines, and deliverables

Team Leadership & Development

  • Mentor, coach, and develop accountants through structured development programs
  • Facilitate both technical training and soft skills development
  • Support career progression from junior to senior levels within the team

Operational Excellence

  • Review and enhance systems, processes, and software to improve efficiency and quality
  • Implement best practices and explore opportunities for automation and workflow optimization
  • Ensure adherence to firm templates, procedures, and information security standards

Delivery Assurance

  • Manage partner expectations around deadlines and service quality
  • Address workflow bottlenecks and coordinate resources to meet urgent deliverables
  • Monitor KPIs including productivity, turnaround times, and quality standards
  • Address issues early and implement corrective improvements where needed

Technical Scope

  • Review financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
  • Review interim financial accounts, tax planning schedules, budgets, and cash flows
  • Review and prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Annual FBT returns
  • Provide review or preparation support for complex group structures where required
  • Apply technical research to develop recommendations and advisory insights
  • Build consulting capabilities by understanding client businesses and identifying opportunities for improvement

Collaboration & Culture

  • Promote teamwork and knowledge sharing across onshore and offshore teams
  • Engage with other divisions to maintain a seamless service delivery model
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative practice culture
