Job Description

Location: Taguig City | Onsite

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Business Risk Manager to lead and strengthen operational and IT risk management practices within our organization. The role is responsible for partnering with business units to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational risks across products, processes, systems, and activities.

The successful candidate will drive the implementation of the enterprise risk management framework, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and promote a strong risk culture across the organization. This role requires extensive experience in the local banking industry, with in-depth knowledge of operational risk management, IT risk, and relevant Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and continuous enhancement of the operational and IT risk management framework across assigned business units.
  • Promote risk awareness and champion the adoption of risk management tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, control testing, and deep-dive analyses to identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and root causes of risk events.
  • Ensure business-specific policies, processes, and procedures are effective, up to date, and aligned with enterprise-wide risk standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop risk mitigation plans, establish action items, define accountabilities, and monitor implementation timelines.
  • Identify emerging risks, assess potential impacts across business units, and communicate key risk exposures to senior management.
  • Review key risk indicators, operational controls, and mitigation strategies to ensure risks remain within approved risk appetite and tolerance levels.
  • Prepare and present risk reports, dashboards, and insights for senior leadership, management committees, and board-level discussions.
  • Facilitate risk management training initiatives and identify capability-building opportunities for business teams.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with BSP guidelines and industry standards.
  • Escalate significant risk issues and intervene when risk management efforts are impeded or compromised.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, proactive risk management, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Risk Management, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in operational risk, IT risk, compliance, audit, or business risk management within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk frameworks, internal controls, governance processes, and risk mitigation methodologies.
  • Proven experience working within a local banking environment with solid knowledge of BSP regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with banking products, services, systems, and end-to-end operational processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and recommend practical solutions.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, networking, and influencing skills.
  • Leadership experience with strong coaching, mentoring, and team development capabilities.
  • Relevant certifications such as CRISC, CISA, CIA, FRM, or ORM-related credentials are an advantage.
