Overall Purpose of The Job

  • The Business Performance Manager is responsible for analyzing business performance data, identifying improvement opportunities, and driving initiatives to enhance overall efficiency, and strategic alignment. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement performance management frameworks, track KPIs, and support data-driven decision-making across the group.

Key Responsibilities And Tasks

Strategy & Operational Planning

  • Support strategic planning & annual goal setting for various departments across different business units.
  • Align performance metrics with strategic objectives of the business.

Performance Analysis & Reporting

  • Develop and manage key performance indicators and dashboards to monitor business performance.
  • Improve Reporting through simplification, standardization and automation.
  • Utilizing data from wide range of sources to analyze and identify possible impacts on the business.
  • Analyze trends, and opportunities across business units to provide actionable insights.
  • Preparing regular performance reports and findings for the business.

Project & Change Management

  • Support performance / process improvement initiatives or projects across departments.
  • Monitor and evaluate success of initiatives or projects and adjust plans as needed.

Communication

  • Facilitate regular performance review meetings.
  • Being able to communicate performance insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and audiences.

Leadership & Direction

  • Organizing the work of the team: planning and prioritizations, negotiations with the stakeholders.
  • Develop and propose own performance objectives; take appropriate actions to ensure achievement of agreed objectives, using the organization's performance management systems to improve personal performance.
  • Set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports, taking appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.
  • Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions to build their capabilities. Provide training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business performance management, strategy, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • SQL – For querying databases and extracting performance data.
  • Data Visualization – Presenting insights clearly to various stakeholders.
  • Experience in Project Management Tools (e.g., Asana, Microsoft DevOps, Jira).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with performance management frameworks (e.g., OKRs, Balanced Scorecard) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Experience in automation, digitization and other technology-driven improvement projects

General Technical Proficiency

  • Experience with presentation tools (e.g., Powerpoint, Google Slides, Canva)
  • CRM Platforms
  • Collaboration Tools (e.g.,MS Teams, Slack, Sharepoint)

Desirable

  • MA degree
  • Lean 6 Sigma certified
  • Project Management (PMP/Prince 2) certified
  • With shipping and maritime industry experience
