Job Title: Business Intelligence Engineer - Power BI

The Business Intelligence Engineer designs, develops, and optimizes enterprise grade Power BI solutions that support decision making across the organization. This role focuses on building scalable data models, DAX calculations, and interactive dashboards that align with business needs.
The position requires strong proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and data modeling, along with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non technical stakeholders.
This role also serves as the product owner and subject matter expert for designated Power BI domains, with responsibility for access management, row level security (RLS), and consistency with enterprise BI standards and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with stakeholders and BI teams to translate reporting needs into scalable Power BI dashboards and visualizations that meet enterprise design standards.
- Build and optimize DAX measures, queries, and report level logic to ensure accuracy, performance, and scalability.
- Work with the Senior BI Engineer to validate model changes and support dataset enhancements while ensuring semantic consistency.
- Partner with the Data Engineering team to define required data elements and validate data accuracy for reporting .
- Manage access controls, dataset permissions, workspace organization, and implement row level security (RLS).
- Troubleshoot Power BI report s, dataset, and data accuracy issues to ensure reliable, high quality reporting outputs.
- Manage and resolve requests through the BI support ticket queue, ensuring timely and accurate issue resolution.
- Fulfill ad hoc data pull and reporting requests by writing SQL queries or generating structured report outputs as needed .
- Support testing, UAT, and deployment activities across the BI development lifecycle.
- Apply disciplined development practices, including version control and documentation of metrics, logic, and report structures.
- Participate in code reviews, quality checks, and knowledge sharing to sustain BI development standards.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non technical audiences and support user adoption.
- Stay current with Power BI platform updates, visualization trends, and enterprise BI best practices.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience designing and delivering enterprise -grade Power BI solutions .
- Strong attention to detail and problem -solving skills with a focus on clean design, accurate data, and consistent user experience .
- Proficiency in SQL and understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling concepts.
- Exposure to source control, code review, and modern BI development practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non -technical stakeholders
