Business Intelligence Analyst

JOB SUMMARY

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, models, and reporting solutions that transform operational and enterprise data into actionable insights. By building dashboards, optimizing data flows, and enforcing governance standards, the BI Analyst enables cross-functional teams to drive efficiency, performance, and data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

1. Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from ERP, MES, production systems, and cloud platforms into centralized data models, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

2. Design, develop, and optimize data models, queries, and database structures (SQL, time-series, relational) to support analytics and self-service reporting.

3. Write and tune complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL workflows for high-volume data extraction, transformation, and load operations.

4. Design, deploy, and manage enterprise BI dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, and Excel with DAX, Power Query, or equivalent scripting.

5. Implement data governance frameworks, including role-based access, audit controls, data lineage, and quality assurance processes.

6. Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to integrate BI solutions with cloud data lakes, data warehouses, and streaming data sources.

7. Automate recurring reporting and analytics processes using BI scripting, Python/R, or workflow automation tools to reduce manual interventions.

8. Monitor and troubleshoot BI infrastructure, optimizing query performance, report refresh cycles, and pipeline runtimes.

9. Provide technical documentation of BI architectures, data dictionaries, ETL mappings, and integration workflows for operational continuity.

10. Research, evaluate, and deploy emerging BI and cloud analytics technologies to enhance scalability and analytical capabilities.

11. Perform other tasks as needed to support data-driven initiatives and business objectives.
