Business Intelligence Analyst

If you have built Power BI reports on live projects, worked with real commercial data, and produced outputs that went directly to clients or stakeholders, this role is worth a look.

You will be working embedded with an Australian cost optimisation consultancy, building dashboards and reports that support direct client recommendations on spend categories worth millions. The work is analytically rigorous. The team expects precision, independent thinking, and the ability to move across multiple active projects without losing accuracy.

The starting point is a support role alongside senior analysts. The path from there is straightforward: at 60 days you are completing analytical work independently, at 90 days you are owning a defined project scope. Analysts who can handle the pace take on increasing responsibility quickly. The engagement is long-term with real scope for growth.

What the role involves

• Building and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports to client-delivery standard
• Cleaning, structuring, and analysing large commercial datasets (GL spend, supplier invoices, contracts, operational records)
• Preparing monthly project reports to a fixed 15th-of-month deadline
• Contributing to financial modelling, benchmarking, and savings validation across active projects
• Managing context across multiple concurrent projects at pace

What you need

• At least 5 years in a business analysis, commercial, consulting, finance, or procurement role
• Substantial Power BI experience built across real, live projects. Under 2 years active application means this role is not for you
• Advanced Excel including financial modelling, data structuring, and complex analysis
• Available Mon-Fri, 8:00am-5:00pm AEST, full-time contractor basis
• Reliable home setup suited to data-heavy work

Useful background

• Experience in freight, utilities, facilities, cleaning, or labour hire spend categories
• Supplier sourcing, RFP, or tender process exposure
• ERP or accounting system familiarity
