Job Description

Overview:

Our client is an expanding UK-based consumer goods brand focused on growing its market reach through wholesale and retail partnerships. As the business scales, it is investing in strategic relationships with independent retailers, stockists, and commercial partners to strengthen distribution and increase brand visibility.

We are looking for a proactive and results-oriented Business Development Representative (Wholesale Account) to drive wholesale business development and secure new retail partnerships. In this role, you will be responsible for prospecting, outbound outreach, relationship building, and converting qualified opportunities into wholesale accounts. The ideal candidate is confident engaging decision-makers, skilled at initiating business conversations, and excited about helping an emerging brand expand its retail footprint.

Schedule: Part Time - 20 hours per week | Monday to Friday, 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM based on GMT

Responsibilities:

Outbound Sales & Prospecting

  • Conduct outbound cold calls and email outreach to prospective wholesale and retail partners
  • Research and identify potential stockists, retailers, and businesses aligned with the company's target audience
  • Build targeted prospect lists and maintain a structured outreach process
  • Introduce the brand, products, and partnership opportunities to potential buyers
  • Create consistent sales activity to generate new wholesale opportunities

Wholesale Account Development

  • Present product offerings professionally to prospective retail partners
  • Build relationships with store owners, buyers, and decision-makers
  • Support negotiation discussions and help secure wholesale partnerships
  • Follow up consistently with interested prospects to move opportunities forward
  • Help establish the company's retail presence before and after product launch

Pipeline Management & Reporting

  • Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects and outreach activity
  • Track calls, emails, responses, and follow-up actions accurately
  • Provide regular reports on outreach performance, conversations, and conversions
  • Share market feedback and customer insights with the business owner
  • Recommend improvements to outreach messaging and sales strategy

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or wholesale account acquisition
  • Proven experience with cold calling and cold email outreach
  • Strong ability to generate new business opportunities from scratch
  • Excellent English communication skills with a confident and professional phone presence
  • Experience managing sales pipelines, prospect lists, and structured follow-ups
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet outreach goals and maintain consistent activity levels

Highly Regarded Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience selling into UK or European markets
  • Experience working with consumer goods, retail, fashion, lifestyle, or product-based brands
  • Existing knowledge of wholesale sales processes and retailer acquisition
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tracking tools
  • Experience supporting early-stage brands or new product launches

Scope:

  • Focus exclusively on outbound wholesale business development and account acquisition
  • Identify and secure new retail partners and stockists
  • Support brand expansion before and after product launch
  • Work directly with the business owner on sales strategy and market feedback
  • No responsibility for e-commerce operations or inbound order management
