Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly driven, strategic, and innovative Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead our dynamic team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs).In this role, you will be the engine of our top-of-funnel pipeline, responsible for mastering both inbound and outbound lead management to drive exceptional conversion rates, opportunity creation, and ultimately, sales closures.
The ideal candidate possesses deep B2B expertise within the IT, Network Security (Net Sec), and Cybersecurity industries. You are a hands-on leader who excels at coaching talented individuals, building rigorous training programs, and deploying cutting-edge sales technologies and innovative outreach strategies to skyrocket BDR connection rates.
Key Responsibilities:
Pipeline & Conversion Management
- Drive the Funnel: Oversee the end-to-end management of inbound lead qualification and outbound prospecting to ensure a robust, high-quality pipeline.
- Maximize Conversion: Implement rigorous qualification frameworks (e.g., MEDDIC, BANT, or CHAMP) to achieve impressive conversion rates from Lead to Sales Qualified Opportunity (SQO), directly impacting closed-won revenue.
- Targeted Outreach: Guide the team in executing highly targeted, persona-based outreach campaigns tailored to CISOs, CIOs, and IT Directors within the B2B enterprise space.
Process Innovation & Tech Utilization
- Elevate Connection Rates: Develop and implement innovative, multi-channel outreach strategies (social selling, video prospecting, personalized intent-data sequencing, etc.) to break through the noise and dramatically enhance BDR connection and reply rates.
- Tech Stack Mastery: Leverage and optimize modern BD applications and CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, SalesLoft, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator) to streamline workflows,
automate administrative tasks, and track cadence efficacy.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage Talent: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of high-performing BDRs, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and healthy competition.
- Comprehensive Training: Design and execute robust onboarding/transition plans for new hires, alongside ongoing, advanced training modules focused on cybersecurity market trends, objection handling, and product knowledge.
- Coaching & Shadowing: Conduct regular live call coaching, email copy reviews, and role-playing sessions to refine the team's pitch and approach.
Performance Tracking & Business Reviews
- Cadenced Reporting: Establish and lead a strict cadence of performance reviews to track KPIs, pipeline health, and team metrics.
- Daily: Stand-ups to align on daily goals and remove roadblocks.
- Weekly: 1-on-1s and tactical team meetings to review weekly targets and campaign performance.
- Monthly: Pipeline reviews to ensure accurate forecasting and goal attainment.
- Quarterly (QBR): Comprehensive Business Reviews presenting team performance, strategic wins, areas for improvement, and next quarter's roadmap to executive leadership.
Required Skills &Qualifications
Industry & Domain Expertise
- 3–5+ years of progressive experience in B2B Sales or Business Development leadership.
- Deep Subject Matter Expertise: Proven track record selling or leading teams within the IT, Network Security, or Cybersecurity sectors. You must understand the pain points of modern IT/Security buyers and the competitive landscape.
Leadership & Execution Skills
- Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and manage a high-performing BDR/SDR team.
- A data-driven mindset with a proven history of optimizing conversion rates across the entire sales funnel.
- Exceptional ability to design scalable training programs and onboarding plans.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret performance data and pivot strategies accordingly.
Technical Competencies
- Advanced proficiency in leading CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred).
- Expertise in Sales Engagement Platforms (Outreach, SalesLoft, Apollo) and lead intelligence tools (ZoomInfo, 6sense, Cognism).
- Familiarity with tracking metrics for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting.
