The Business Development Manager – Corporate Employee Loan Program (CELP) is responsible for driving the acquisition, onboarding, and growth of employer partnerships under UNObank's Corporate Employee Loan Program. The role serves as the primary relationship owner for target corporate accounts and works closely with Product, Credit, Operations, Marketing, HR, and Sales Operations teams to expand employee loan penetration, increase disbursements, and achieve portfolio growth targets.
The incumbent will identify new business opportunities, establish strategic partnerships with employers, and ensure the successful implementation and adoption of CELP solutions that support UNObank's mission of advancing financial inclusion through responsible and accessible lending solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Business Development & Client Acquisition
- Identify, prospect, and acquire new corporate employer partners for the Corporate Employee Loan Program.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve partnership, loan disbursement, and portfolio growth targets.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective corporate clients across various industries.
- Conduct presentations, product demonstrations, and business reviews with prospective partner organizations.
- Negotiate and facilitate partnership agreements and onboarding requirements.
B. Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned employer partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, HR leaders, finance representatives, and management teams of partner organizations.
- Conduct periodic business reviews to assess relationship health, utilization rates, and growth opportunities.
- Address partner concerns and coordinate timely resolutions with internal stakeholders.
C. CELP Program Implementation
- Coordinate with Product, Operations, Credit, Compliance, and Technology teams to ensure smooth partner onboarding and launch.
- Monitor implementation milestones and ensure adherence to agreed service levels.
- Support partner organizations in employee education, product awareness campaigns, and activation activities.
- Drive adoption and utilization of CELP offerings among partner employees.
D. Sales Performance Management
- Achieve assigned sales targets, partnership acquisition targets, and loan disbursement goals.
- Monitor and manage sales funnel performance from lead generation through conversion.
- Maintain accurate records of opportunities, pipeline activities, forecasts, and account developments.
- Prepare periodic sales and business development reports for management review.
E. Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities within employee lending and workplace financial wellness programs.
- Gather customer feedback and market insights to support product enhancements and process improvements.
- Recommend new partnership models and growth initiatives to improve CELP competitiveness and market penetration.
F. Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all business development activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, Bank policies, and internal controls.
- Adhere to customer due diligence, data privacy, information security, and operational risk management requirements.
Support audit, compliance, and regulatory reviews relating to assigned partnerships and activities.
Job Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Management, or any related discipline.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Development, Corporate Sales, Relationship Management, Banking Sales, Lending, FinTech, Payroll Services, Employee Benefits, or related fields.
- Proven experience managing B2B partnerships and corporate client relationships.
- Experience in unsecured lending, consumer finance, payroll programs, digital banking, or employee financial wellness programs is highly preferred.
