Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager, APAC to lead the growth of our Food & Nutrition portfolio across the Asia Pacific region.
This role will drive the strategic development and commercialization of our Encapsulates & Dairy Proteins portfolio, working closely with customers, suppliers, and regional commercial teams to unlock new business opportunities and strengthen Caldic's market position.
The portfolio includes creamers, foamers, fat powders, whipping agents, emulsifiers, and dairy protein solutions serving key food and beverage applications including beverages, instant mixes, ready-to-drink products, bakery, desserts, ice cream, and foodservice.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine technical expertise, commercial leadership, and regional business development within one of the world's leading specialty ingredient distributors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development & Regional Growth
- Develop and execute regional business development strategies to accelerate growth across Asia Pacific.
- Identify new market opportunities, priority customer segments, and high-growth applications.
- Build and maintain a strong opportunity pipeline to deliver sustainable revenue and margin growth.
- Support local commercial teams in developing strategic customer opportunities and expanding existing business.
2. Customer & Commercial Leadership
- Build strong relationships with key regional customers and strategic accounts.
- Position Caldic as a value-added solutions partner by combining technical expertise with commercial insight.
- Lead regional customer projects from opportunity identification through commercialization.
- Support pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and margin optimization in collaboration with commercial teams.
3. Technical & Application Support
- Act as the regional technical-commercial expert for the Encapsulates & Dairy Proteins portfolio.
- Translate ingredient functionality into customer-focused solutions that improve product performance and consumer appeal.
- Collaborate with application specialists and innovation teams to support product development, formulation trials, and technical problem-solving.
- Promote portfolio strengths including functionality, consistency, quality, supply reliability, and sustainability.
4. Supplier & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build strong partnerships with strategic principals and suppliers to support long-term portfolio growth.
- Align regional business plans with supplier innovation pipelines and commercial objectives.
- Work closely with marketing, supply chain, regulatory, operations, and finance teams to ensure successful execution of regional growth initiatives.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Dairy Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in business development, strategic sales, product management, or regional marketing within the Food & Beverage ingredients industry.
- Strong technical understanding of ingredient functionality and food applications, particularly in beverages, instant mixes, bakery, dairy, desserts, or foodservice.
- Proven success in developing regional business opportunities and managing strategic customer relationships across Asia Pacific.
- Experience working with international suppliers, principals, and multicultural teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English; additional Asian languages are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel across the region (approximately 30–40%).
