The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities within the construction industry. This role focuses on developing strategic client relationships, expanding market presence, preparing winning proposals, and collaborating with operations teams to deliver construction solutions that meet client requirements. The successful candidate will possess strong industry knowledge, proven sales experience, established C-Level client network, and the ability to build long-term partnerships with developers, general contractors, government agencies, and commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities in commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and institutional construction sectors specially in the markets of BPOs, GCCs, Enterprise Conglomerates, and Commercial Real Estate Developers.
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Generate leads through networking, industry associations, events, referrals, and market research.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, project owners, developers, architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
- Prepare and deliver compelling client presentations and capability statements.
Market Research & Opportunity Management
- Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
- Identify upcoming projects and bidding opportunities through public and private procurement channels.
- Maintain and manage a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools.
- Evaluate project opportunities and align pursuits with company capabilities and strategic objectives.
Proposal & Tender Management
- Lead the preparation and submission of RFPs, RFQs, tenders, and proposals.
- Coordinate with estimating, engineering, operations, and finance teams to develop competitive bids.
- Review contract terms, project requirements, and commercial conditions.
- Participate in contract negotiations and project award processes.
Client Relationship Management
- Develop and nurture long-term client relationships to secure repeat business.
- Serve as the primary point of contact during the pursuit and pre-construction phases.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and problem-solving.
- Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts.
Strategic Planning
- Contribute to annual business plans, sales strategies, and market expansion initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on growth strategies, partnerships, and market diversification.
- Support brand-building efforts through industry networking, trade shows, conferences, and professional organizations.
Performance & Reporting
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including pipeline value, bid success rates, revenue generation, and client acquisition.
- Prepare regular business development reports for executive leadership.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, forecasts, and customer interactions.
