Role Overview
The Business Development Analyst is a front-line commercial role at ROM-ARCH Tower Corporation,
positioned at the intersection of commodity trading, financial risk management, and regional business
development. The role carries two primary mandates:
• Acting as RATC's official introducer and lead generation engine for its futures instrument marketing partner across the Philippines and Southeast Asia — identifying, qualifying, and supporting the full onboarding journey of prospective hedging clients.
• Driving RATC's own brokerage operations — managing agricultural and soft commodity sales portfolios, coordinating import and export transactions, producing market intelligence reports, and supporting day-to-day trading activities.
• Fresh graduates with strong analytical ability and genuine commercial curiosity are warmly encouraged to apply. Full structured training in commodity derivatives, hedging instruments, brokerage operations, and market intelligence is provided.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Futures Instrument Marketing — Business Introduction, Sales Support & Client Success
Lead Generation & Introduction
• Develop and execute a structured regional lead generation strategy to identify and introduce
prospective clients to RATC's futures instrument across the Philippines and Southeast Asia; own
and report on pipeline targets.
• Conduct introductory meetings, webinars, and onsite presentations to articulate the futures
instrument value proposition — covering commodity price risk management, hedging solutions,
and market intelligence services — in terms relevant to each prospect's business.
• Qualify prospective clients against target profile; prioritize outreach toward feed millers, agri-
traders, food processors, and other commodity-exposed corporates across the region.
• Travel to client sites across Philippine provinces and regional markets to build the introducer
pipeline; represent RATC at local and international agri-commodity and trade finance events.
Sales Support
• Assist the futures instrument marketing sales team by preparing localized pitch materials —
presentations, one-pagers, product briefs, and market snapshots — tailored to the risk profiles and
commodity exposures of each prospect.
• Coordinate and schedule client meetings, follow-up calls, and product walkthroughs between
prospects and the commercial team; maintain a shared calendar of all pending engagements.
• Support the collection, verification, and organization of KYC documents, compliance requirements,
and account opening paperwork on behalf of clients; ensure all submissions meet internal
requirements.
• Maintain an accurate, up-to-date lead pipeline and CRM records; provide structured pipeline reports
to relevant stakeholders on lead status, conversion progress, and next steps.
Client Success & Relationship Management
• Act as the primary local point of contact for clients from first meeting through to successful account
activation; ensure no client falls through the cracks.
• Proactively follow up on pending documents, compliance steps, and bottlenecks throughout the
onboarding journey; keep both the internal and external stakeholders informed at every stage.
• Conduct periodic check-ins with activated clients to assess satisfaction, identify additional hedging
needs, and surface opportunities for deeper engagement with the product suite.
• Gather and relay structured client feedback on service quality, product gaps, and market needs to
support continuous improvement and regional product-market fit.
• Build long-term trust with key accounts to drive referrals and strengthen RATC's reputation as a
credible, value-adding introducer across the SEA commodity sector.
2. Commodity Sales & Portfolio Management
• Develop and execute a sourcing and selling strategy for agricultural and soft commodities targeting
third-party customers, distributors, and inter-company requirements; full training and support is
provided for this function.
• Manage agricultural and soft commodity sales portfolios, monitor open risk positions, and
coordinate supply and demand signals for the feed milling and food processing industry.
• Run daily pricing simulations for inter-office activities using basic futures and options pricing models;
align and update internal pricing on a daily basis in line with market movements.
• Prospect and develop long-term relationships with feed millers, integrators, and food processors to
continuously identify, qualify, and close new trading and supply opportunities.
• Prepare trade confirmations, purchasing contracts, sales contracts, and forward risk exposure
forecasts with accuracy and in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with the Logistics, Operations, and Execution Specialist for delivery scheduling and
fulfillment through third-party logistics (3PL) providers; track shipment status until delivery
completion.
• Support key customer, distributor, and inter-company relationships with the long-term objective of
maximizing profitability, deepening commercial ties, and generating sustainable value for RATC.
3. Brokerage Operations
Export Development
• Develop and expand trading opportunities for RBD Coconut Oil, Coconut Acid Oil, and Coconut Fatty
Acid Distillate; maintain counterparty relationships and monitor trade performance.
• Maintain and strengthen Crude Glycerine (CG) trading activities; track shipment schedules, pricing,
and delivery performance on an ongoing basis.
Import Operations
• Handle all Crude Coconut Oil (CCNO) import transactions; coordinate shipping instructions,
documentation, payment terms, and delivery schedules end-to-end.
• Proactively identify and develop additional CCNO import opportunities; maintain relationship with
existing and prospective suppliers.
Local Trading & Brokerage
• Manage weekly brokerage activities for RBD Palm Olein transactions; coordinate pricing, volumes,
logistics, and settlement on a recurring basis.
• Develop active, repeat buyers for RBD Palm Olein; execute outreach, product presentations, and
commercial negotiations as required.
4. Market Intelligence & Reporting
• Generate and prepare market intelligence reports covering agricultural and soft commodities for
both internal trading desk use and external client distribution.
• Monitor product availability, supply disruptions, and market pricing movements across key
commodity categories; provide timely updates to the management team on emerging risks and
opportunities.
• Prepare and distribute the daily FX Market Recap and relevant commodity market updates to internal
stakeholders and clients.
• Gather, organize, and maintain vessel arrival data and related trade flow information to
support operational and advisory requirements.
• Assist the compliance team in securing required documentation from prospective and onboarding
clients; ensure completeness and accuracy before submission.
• Maintain a structured archive of all market reports, data sources, and analytical outputs for audit and
management reference purposes.

Education
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Agricultural Studies, Entrepreneurship, Finance, or a related
field.
• An MBA or postgraduate qualification is a plus but not required.
• A sales internship or relevant industry exposure (commodities, trading, finance) is an advantage.
