Role Overview
The Business/Data Analyst is responsible for enabling data-informed decision making across the organization by ensuring data is accurate, accessible, and structured to support operational and strategic needs. The role combines analytical expertise with cross-functional collaboration to improve reporting, streamline workflows, and enhance data reliability.
This is a highly independent role reporting directly to the CEO, focused on owning monthly reporting cycles, supporting forecasting, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve business performance through data-driven insights. The position plays a key role in identifying opportunities to improve data processes, define business metrics, and support the evolution of scalable analytics practices.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Insights
- Collect, analyze, and interpret datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights
- Translate business questions into analytical approaches that support decision-making
- Define and maintain key business metrics and ensure consistency in reporting logic
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to support business initiatives and operational needs
- Provide structured insights to support both strategic and day-to-day decision-making
- Support forecasting and forward-looking data analysis
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve business performance
Reporting & Visualization
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports
- Own and manage the monthly reporting cycle
- Deliver external stakeholder reports with strict deadlines
- Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and aligned with business definitions
- Maintain consistency across reporting outputs
- Support stakeholders in understanding and using data effectively
- Structure and manipulate datasets to support reporting requirements
Data Quality & Governance
- Perform data validation and quality checks
- Identify inconsistencies in data definitions and sources
- Support development of consistent data structures
- Document reporting logic and data sources
- Promote single source of truth across the organization
- Support evolving data environment and long-term data strategy
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify manual processes for automation
- Improve workflows and reporting efficiency
- Support scalability of reporting processes
- Document processes for continuity
- Proactively recommend improvements to analytics workflows
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
- Work cross-functionally across business teams
- Partner with leadership team to gather requirements
- Support operational and strategic initiatives
- Communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Work directly with senior leadership including CEO
Data Infrastructure & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to data structure and architecture discussions
- Improve data accessibility and availability
- Support long-term data maturity initiatives
- Improve reporting capability across business
- Support customer reporting enhancements
Requirements
Technical Skills (Must Have)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Pivot Tables
- XLOOKUP / VLOOKUP
- INDEX MATCH
- Large dataset handling
- Data cleaning and structuring
- Strong reporting and analytics experience
- Experience working with large datasets
