The Brand Protection Manager, APAC is responsible for protecting RIMOWA's intellectual property and brand equity across the Asia Pacific region, with a strong focus on counterfeiting, trademark and design infringement, unauthorized distribution, and grey market activity.
Based in Singapore, the role will lead and coordinate brand protection activities across APAC, working across a diverse range of markets and enforcement environments. The position combines legal and intellectual property expertise with a practical, hands-on approach to investigations, enforcement, and stakeholder management.
The role will work closely with RIMOWA's global IP team in Cologne, LVMH Brand Protection teams, external counsel, investigators, customs authorities, law enforcement agencies, and internal business teams across the region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Protection & Anti-Counterfeiting
- Lead brand protection and anti-counterfeiting activities across APAC, identifying priority markets, emerging risks, and appropriate enforcement strategies.
- Monitor online marketplaces, e-commerce platforms, social media channels, and physical markets for counterfeit RIMOWA products, trademark and design infringements and unauthorized distribution.
- Coordinate investigations into counterfeit networks, sellers, distributors, and grey market activity across the region.
- Assess cases and determine appropriate actions, including takedowns, cease-and-desist measures, customs actions, administrative enforcement, and legal proceedings.
- Monitor regional trends and emerging threats, providing recommendations on where enforcement resources should be prioritized.
Investigations, Enforcement & Case Management
- Manage brand protection cases and investigations across APAC from identification through to resolution.
- Coordinate enforcement actions with external investigators, legal counsel, customs authorities, law enforcement agencies, and other relevant authorities across the region.
- Gather, review, and maintain evidence and documentation required to support enforcement and legal proceedings.
- Partner with local counsel on litigation and other legal actions where required, considering the different legal and enforcement frameworks across APAC markets.
- Support customs records and deliver training to customs and enforcement authorities to strengthen identification and interception of counterfeit RIMOWA products.
Regional IP & Risk Management
- Support the protection and enforcement of RIMOWA's trademarks, designs, and other intellectual property rights across APAC.
- Identify regional brand protection risks and provide practical recommendations to the business on appropriate mitigation and enforcement strategies.
- Stay informed of developments in IP legislation, enforcement practices, e-commerce, and counterfeiting trends across key APAC markets.
- Ensure regional activities are aligned with RIMOWA and LVMH global brand protection standards and strategies.
Stakeholder Management & Business Partnership
- Act as the key regional point of contact for Brand Protection across APAC.
- Work closely with RIMOWA's IP team in Cologne and relevant LVMH Brand Protection teams to ensure alignment between global strategy and regional execution.
- Partner with Retail, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, E-commerce and other business functions to identify potential infringements and strengthen brand protection awareness.
- Manage relationships with external counsel, investigators, monitoring providers and other specialist vendors across APAC.
- Provide practical guidance and training to RIMOWA teams on identifying, escalating and managing potential brand protection issues.
- Prepare regular updates, risk assessments and reporting for regional and global senior stakeholders.
YOUR PROFILE
- Degree in Law, Intellectual Property or a related discipline; legal qualification is advantageous.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in intellectual property, brand protection, anti-counterfeiting, investigations or enforcement, ideally within a regional APAC environment.
- Strong knowledge of intellectual property and brand protection, with practical experience managing enforcement matters.
- Experience working across multiple APAC markets and an understanding of the differing legal, regulatory and enforcement environments across the region.
- Experience working with customs authorities, law enforcement agencies, external investigators and/or specialist IP counsel is highly desirable.
- Experience within luxury, fashion, consumer goods or another brand-led industry would be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of online infringement, including e-commerce marketplaces, social media platforms and digital channels.
- Business-fluent written and spoken English; additional Asian language capability would be an advantage.
- Able to operate independently across a geographically diverse region while collaborating effectively with global and local stakeholders.
- Commercially minded and pragmatic, with the ability to balance legal risk, brand protection priorities and business considerations.
- Hands-on, proactive and solution-oriented, with strong judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with senior stakeholders, external partners and authorities.
