Role Summary
The Asst. Operations Manager for a Data Annotation Account is responsible for overseeing end-to-end delivery of annotation projects, ensuring high-quality labeled datasets are produced on time, within budget, and in accordance with client specifications. The role focuses on workforce management, process optimization, quality control, and client coordination in a fast-paced data operations environment
Key Responsibilities
1. Project & Operations Management
- Manage daily operations of data annotation projects
- Monitor production metrics such as throughput, accuracy, and turnaround time
- Allocate resources efficiently across multiple projects and workflows
2. Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Supervise team leads and annotation specialists
- Conduct workforce planning including hiring, training, and scheduling
- Drive team performance through KPIs and productivity targets
- Handle escalation management and resolve operational bottlenecks
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes for annotation accuracy
- Develop and enforce annotation guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Conduct audits and feedback loops to continuously improve data quality
- Ensure compliance with client requirements and data security standards
4. Client Management & Communication
- Act as the primary operational point of contact for client accounts
- Provide regular progress reports, dashboards, and performance updates
- Participate in client meetings to discuss requirements, issues, and improvements
- Manage expectations and ensure high client satisfaction
5. Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify inefficiencies in workflows and implement process improvements
- Collaborate with tooling and engineering teams to enhance annotation platforms
- Support automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and increase scalability
- Introduce best practices for labeling accuracy and speed optimization
6. Data & Performance Analysis
- Track operational KPIs and generate reports for leadership and clients
- Analyze productivity trends and quality metrics
- Use data-driven insights to optimize staffing and workflows
- Forecast capacity requirements based on project pipeline
Role Requirement
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Asst. Operations Manager and/or at least two years at a Supervisory/Managerial level
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Experienced in process creation and improvement
- Capable of strategic thinking and planning
- Performance and goal oriented
- Understands workforce management for day-to-day task allotment and plotting
- Heavily exposed in client communication
