Position: Bookkeeping Team Lead Onboarding
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeping Team Lead Onboarding to oversee the end-to-end onboarding of new clients and ensure a smooth transition into ongoing services. This role plays a key part in supporting Client Managers, coordinating onboarding activities, and maintaining high-quality delivery standards. You will lead a team of Senior Onboarding Specialists and help shape processes, workflows, and best practices across the onboarding function.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Onboarding
- Lead the full onboarding process for new clients.
- Perform or support Xero balance conversions.
- Prepare or assist with month-end reporting packs for new clients.
- Conduct health checks on client systems and processes during transition.
- Join discovery calls and pre-onboarding meetings when required.
Quality & Compliance
- Review GST and other compliance reports.
- Review monthly management accounts based on internal processes.
- Handle escalated client issues and queries.
- Provide technical accounting support when necessary.
- Assist with client procedures and support team tasks during peak workloads or absences.
Process Improvement & Quality Assurance
- Contribute to developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, systems, and procedures.
- Monitor adherence to best practices and ensure operational efficiency.
- Improve processes to enhance quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Track team performance and productivity using reporting tools.
Team Leadership & Development
- Set clear expectations, goals, and KPIs for the team.
- Coach, mentor, and support team members in their day-to-day performance.
- Assist with training, onboarding, and professional development plans.
- Promote collaboration and uphold core values within the team.
- Deliver regular feedback and maintain open communication with the wider management team.
- Support recruitment and selection processes when needed.
General Duties
- Conduct quality reviews of systems and processes.
- Perform additional onboarding or bookkeeping tasks as required.
- Oversee implementation and verification of ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 standards.
Skills, Qualifications, & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a Finance/Accounting-related field.
- CPA qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory or team leader role within the ANZ market.
- Direct and proven experience in client onboarding is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for a client-facing role.
- Background in project management, process improvement, and operational excellence.
- Xero-certified.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience in the offshore or BPO industry is required.
