Australian Bookkeeper (Insolvency Engagement Administrator)

Location: Ortigas (Hybrid)

Work Schedule: Dayshift

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper (Insolvency Engagement Administrator) to join our Treasury team. In this role, you will support the administration of formal insolvency engagements by managing cash accounting, banking administration, reconciliations, statutory lodgements, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Management & Reconciliations

  • Maintain accurate cashbook records and financial data within the firm's insolvency practice management system.
  • Process end-of-period bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are accurately accounted for.
  • Reconcile bank charges and fees against applicable banking terms and conditions.
  • Monitor and investigate account discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution.

Banking & Treasury Administration

  • Prepare documentation for the opening and closing of bank accounts.
  • Manage bank account transaction inquiries and dispute resolution requests.
  • Support treasury operations by maintaining accurate banking records and administrative documentation.
  • Process payment requisitions and ensure timely and accurate payments.

Insolvency Administration & Regulatory Compliance

  • Support the administration of formal insolvency engagements in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare documentation and reports required for statutory and regulatory lodgements.
  • Monitor regulatory deadlines and ensure compliance obligations are met.
  • Assist with dividend distribution processing and associated documentation.

Process Improvement & Stakeholder Support

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial and administrative records.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support engagement administration and compliance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and controls.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification is highly desirable

Experience

  • Experience in bookkeeping, cashbook management, treasury support, or a similar finance-related role
  • Experience within a professional services environment is preferred
  • Exposure to insolvency, restructuring, accounting, or legal support services is highly regarded
  • Experience with accounting systems and financial administration processes

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and financial administration
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
