Job Description

A well established and award-winning US public relations firm is seeking a remote Bookkeeper to join their team. The company specializes in the education sector; They help (US) public school and college districts raise money through bond and tax rate elections by building public support through strategic communications and advocacy.

Company size: +/-15 people

Time zone: Central Time, USA (CDT)

Pay: $1300 - $1500 USD/month, depending on experience/qualifications

Type: Ind. Contractor, Full time (40 hrs week)

Shift:  8:30am-5:00pm CDT (PH night shift), *Opportunity for flexible schedule after 3-6 months

Primary Responsibilities:

• Own all things Quickbooks Online: Entering bills, payments, and transactions, accurately coding all income and expenses, creating/sending/tracking invoices, processing payroll, and monthly account reconciliation and reporting.

• Collections & Payment Processing: Monitor AR aging reports, record customer payments, and reconcile transactions.

• Billing Account Management: Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, resolve discrepancies, and maintain up-to-date customer account information.

• Reporting & Analysis: Identify trends in delinquent accounts and recommend next steps, assist with month-end closing tasks such as reconciling customer AR ledgers.

• Other financial and administrative tasks: Assist with payroll automation as needed, 401K monthly administration, and other admin tasks as needed.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

• 2-3 years experience w/Quickbooks Online

• Microsoft Excel EXPERT (pivot tables, formulas, etc)

• 2-3 years supporting a US business in Accounting/Bookkeeping

• College degree in Accounting or similar

• Good written and verbal english communication, you will be emailing with US customers regarding billing and payment
