Bookkeeper (Multi-Entity + Admin Support) (Remote)

Salary: $700-$1,200

Schedule: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm EST; Split role: 20 hours/week bookkeeping + 20 hours/week admin support

Independent Contractor; Full-time

Overview

Our client, a family-run investment company, is seeking a Bookkeeper to support financial operations across multiple entities while also assisting with administrative tasks.

The company acquires land, houses, and multifamily properties with a focus on fairness, flexibility, and a streamlined client experience. As the business continues to grow, internal bookkeeping has become unsustainable—creating the need for a dedicated professional to bring structure, accuracy, and consistency across all financials.

Primary Function

The primary function of this role is to manage bookkeeping across three entities while supporting administrative operations, creating organized, scalable systems for both financial tracking and day-to-day business support.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping (≈50% of Role)

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping across three entities:
    • Rental portfolio (80 properties)
    • Coaching/consulting company
    • Construction company
  • Execute a 5-month historical cleanup of financial data for the rental portfolio
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Perform monthly close processes and generate performance reports (transitioning from annual to monthly reporting)
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and transactions
  • Track income, expenses, and property-level performance
  • Establish clean, repeatable bookkeeping systems for newer entities to prevent backlog
Administrative / Operational Support (≈50% of Role)

  • Assist with general administrative and operational tasks across businesses
  • Support scheduling, coordination, and internal workflows
  • Help maintain organization across systems and processes
  • Provide ad hoc support to ownership as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals and financial reporting
  • Experience managing multiple entities or accounts simultaneously
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to clean up and organize historical financial data
  • Comfortable balancing both financial and administrative responsibilities
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with real estate or rental property accounting
  • Familiarity with property-level reporting and portfolio management
  • Experience working with growing or entrepreneurial businesses
  • Background supporting both finance and operations functions

Role Details

  • Full-time, remote position
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST
