Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations and maintain accurate, compliant financial records. This role combines bookkeeping, accounting support, and basic administrative coordination to ensure smooth financial workflows. The ideal candidate has strong ownership of tasks, values accuracy, and thrives in a structured environment.

Daily Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Record daily financial transactions, including invoices, reimbursements, payroll entries, and booking-related activity
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately and on time
  • Assist with vendor payments, client billing, and cash application
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and support collections follow-up

Financial Reporting & Month-End Support

  • Assist with month-end closing activities
  • Prepare basic financial summaries as requested
  • Help maintain audit-ready documentation and support financial controls

Operational & Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records in accounting software
  • Support budget preparation and forecasting activities
  • Respond to billing, documentation, and cross-functional inquiries
  • Provide general admin support

Compliance & Document Handling

  • Assist with preparing, reviewing, and organizing legal and financial documents

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting support, or finance roles
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks (required), Xero, SAP, and cloud-based tools
  • Strong command of MS Excel and comfort working with financial data
  • Understanding of AP/AR, payroll processes, general ledger workflows, and basic accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
  • Experience with contract review and processing is a plus.
