The Opportunity

We are after a Bookkeeper (2-3+ years AUS experience ideally with a BPO or Australian Public Practice firm) to assist with an amazing portfolio of progressive clients. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing the financial livelihood of high-growth tech and online companies.

We are looking for bright and growth-oriented CPAs (or aspiring) with public practice experience. You have to love learning and progress. You'll succeed by applying a diverse level of hands-on experience and driving force behind quality bookkeeping work.

The day-to-day

• Handling multiple client's files across different industries
• Manage end-to end bookkeeping
• Cash Coding – proficient in coding bank transactions, Stripe, Paypal, and other platforms as applicable, can train others, and troubleshoot issues that arise.
• Accounts Receivable – can run end to end from set up, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and maintenance with all Xero add-on solutions.
• Accounts Payable – can run end to end from set up, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and review with Xero add-on solutions.
• Payroll – can run end to end from set up, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and review with Xero Payroll; STP Filing and EOFY Finalisation; Superannuation Payments and others as applicable.
• Prepare BAS and IAS including GST and Payroll reconciliation
• Prepare and lodge TPAR
• Prepare monthly Payroll tax calculations for lodgment (ideal)
• Carry out all End of Month processes to an excellent standard – reconcile all balance sheet accounts – Bank Reconciliations to statements; End of month journals (including intercompany loan accounts, splitting our sales, Inventory, and COGS adjustments); Balance Sheet reviews; Profit & Loss review for trend analysis.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports for clients and internal VCFO
• Direct client communication through email, phone and occasional video call.
• Review your work to identify and rectify errors
• Meet all deadlines and complete work tasks within time budgets
• Responsible for ensuring all other client compliance deadlines are met

Tech-Industry Specific Responsibilities

• Manage subscription revenue recognition and tracking
• Handle international transactions and multi-currency accounting
• Support external consultants with R&D tax incentive documentation
• Assist with equity and share option accounting for growing companies
• Work across different tech industry verticals and business models

Training and Development

• Maintain Xero Certification
• Be a software champion for a platform, actively provide regular updates to the team regarding updates and skills for using these platforms
• Attend Xero, and other external online training
• Buddy to new team members
