Job Description

Boiler Operations

  • Operate boilers in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines
  • Monitor boiler parameters such as pressure, temperature, fuel consumption, and water levels
  • Assist in boiler start-up, shutdown, and changeover procedures
  • Report abnormalities, leaks, alarms, or unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor

Water Treatment Operations

  • Perform routine water treatment processes for boiler feed water, cooling water, and wastewater
  • Conduct regular water testing (e.g., pH, TDS, hardness, chemical dosage) and record results
  • Prepare, handle, and apply water treatment chemicals following safety protocols
  • Ensure treated water meets required quality standards for boiler and plant use

Maintenance Support

  • Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks and housekeeping of boiler and water treatment areas
  • Assist maintenance personnel during inspections, repairs, and shutdown activities
  • Ensure tools, pumps, tanks, and treatment equipment are clean and in good working condition

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow company safety rules, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Support compliance with environmental regulations and company pollution control measures
  • Participate in safety drills, toolbox meetings, and training programs
  • Immediately report incidents, near misses, or environmental concerns

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate daily logs for boiler operation, water treatment readings, and chemical usage
  • Submit shift reports, checklists, and handover notes to ensure continuity between shifts
  • Assist in preparing documents needed for inspections, audits, or regulatory compliance

Shift and Operational Support

  • Work on shifting schedules, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Assist during peak operations, emergency situations, or manpower shortages
  • Perform other utility-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor or department head

Qualifications

  • Vocational, Technical, or College level (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Technology, or related field preferred)
  • Experience in boiler operation, water treatment, or industrial utilities is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of boiler systems, water treatment processes, and safety practices
  • Willingness to work on shifting schedules and in an industrial environment
  • Physically fit and able to work in hot, noisy, or hazardous areas
  • Boiler Operation training or TESDA certification (preferred)
  • Basic water analysis and chemical handling knowledge
  • Pollution Control Officer (PCO) training or environmental awareness is an advantage
  • Ability to read gauges, meters, and simple technical manuals
  • Good teamwork, discipline, and attention to detail
