The Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) is a non-stock, not-for-profit organization committed to professionalizing corporate directorship and advancing corporate governance standards in the Philippines. Established in 1999 in response to the Asian financial crisis, ICD focuses on promoting higher governance practices across sectors. It is part of the Centers for Excellence in Governance (CEG) and collaborates with key regulatory bodies to deliver specialized training. ICD is accredited by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Insurance Commission (IC), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG), and the Anti-Money Laundering Council, offering programs that support responsible and effective leadership in organizations.
Role Description
As a Board Services Intern of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), you will provide administrative, research, coordination, and logistical support to the Board Services unit in the delivery of client engagements, programs, and services. You will assist in activities related to corporate governance, with particular focus on strategic planning and execution, board protocols, board evaluation, and other board services.
The role will provide opportunities to gain practical experience in corporate governance, client engagement, program coordination, research, and professional services.
Key Responsibilities
Board Services Support
- Assist in the preparation and development of Board Services programs, including Board Protocols and Board Assessment initiatives.
- Assist in research and preparation of materials for client engagements and interventions.
- Provide administrative and logistical support in the delivery and facilitation of Board Services interventions.
- Support the organization and implementation of ICD events and activities.
- Assist in coordinating with clients and facilitators before, during, and after engagements.
- Support communications and coordination with Board members, executives, clients, and facilitators as directed by the team.
- Assist in monitoring and documenting client engagement progress and action items.
- Help maintain positive relationships with clients and facilitators through timely and professional coordination.
- Assist in preparing reports, documentation, presentations, and feature stories capturing best practices and lessons learned.
- Organize and maintain information, files, documents, and supplies of the Board Services Team
- Assist in developing and updating the Board Services database, records, marketing initiatives, work templates, and other reference materials.
- Collaborate with and provide administrative and coordination support to other ICD units, as needed.
Other Projects and Tasks
Perform other projects, assignments, and tasks related to Board Services as may be assigned by the supervisor/s from time to time.
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in an academic program that requires a compulsory internship/practicum as part of the curriculum
- Strong communication, organizational, and coordination skills, with good attention to detail
- Demonstrates an interest in corporate governance, board practices, strategy, and organizational development
- Has good research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to organize information and prepare basic reports and presentations
- Proactive, reliable, and willing to learn, with the ability to work collaboratively with different teams, clients, and professionals
- Able to assist with program coordination, client communications, event logistics, documentation, and administrative tasks
- Able to commit to an internship duration of at least three (3)
- Amenable to a hybrid work setup, with a willingness to report onsite in Makati at least three (3) days per week, or as required by the role
