Main Activities and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)
— Prepare general arrangement drawings and rc detailing with bar bending schedule.
— Ensures drawings comply with specific project design brief instructions and all details are being carried out correctly to
WSP Standards and QA Procedures.
— Technical CAD/ Civil 3D operations in accordance with company requirements and standards.
— Ensure the format of the drawing sheets are set up to cater for individual projects specific requirements
— Ensures construction documents accuracy based on discipline.
— Collaborates and coordinates with other disciplines
— Adheres to BIM Execution Plan and BIM project workflow criteria.
— Follows BIM content standards and development procedures.
— Prints drawing set for professional team and attends discipline reviews.
— Exports DWF and other formats for collaboration internally and externally.
— Ability to work within a team and produce high quality work.
— Perform quality drawing checks as required
— Inform team leads and clients about the progress and status of work
— Assisting more senior BIM Technicians and Coordinators with the analysis of tasks and problems.
— Building an understanding of basic discipline-based design concepts.
— Participate in training activities to extend and share own knowledge.
— Gain an appreciation for the variety of project technology tools required for digital project delivery.
— Comply with all role specific SHEQ obligations.
— Develop and awareness of project delivery risk and mitigation techniques.
— Other duties as directed, to help the company provide outstanding service to its customers
Qualifications (Minimum and Desirable):
— Technical competence commensurate with a BIM Technician, Civil's role. — A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or any related course
— Knowledgeable in AutoCAD
— Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Applications
— Good English communication Skills
Experience, Skills And Organisational Knowledge
— Typically 2+ years of relevant civil drafting experience
— High level use and understanding of CAD software and how it applies (AutoCAD, ProjectWise)
— Proficiency in Civil 3D and 12D is an advantage
— Intermediate modelling and detailing skills. Prepares models and drawings from sketches and design information.
Intermediate level use and understanding of BIM software and standards.
— The ability to work as a team player, working with the wide variety of personalities and situations whilst remaining
professional and outcome focused.
— The ability to work independently and to communicate clearly with clients, management team, office team members,
colleagues and consultants.
— Attention to detail and the ability to follow up targets and deadlines to achieve outcomes.
— Conversant in most manners of Construction Methodology & Project Delivery methods.
— Good capabilities in digital coordination of multi-disciplinary design models
— Developing experience in managing client relations and expectations.
— Awareness of management of model metadata including the application of classification systems.
— Able to effectively manage discipline-based project information under guidance. Awareness of ISO19650 workflows. — Active participation in IQBE initiatives and discipline action plans.
— Develops an understanding of WSP's organizational capability and how to access it.
— Knowledge of systems, procedures and practices
— Aware of organizational approach to risk management, ethics and safety.
