Job Role:
1. Process and submit daily claims to state agencies accurately and on time.
2. Download and upload billing files into healthcare software systems.
3. Review and resolve claim denials by identifying issues and taking appropriate action.
4. Communicate with therapists and other external providers to troubleshoot billing and denial-related concerns.
5. Keep the Lead Biller copied on all external communications regarding claims and denials.
6. Assist with day-to-day billing operations and address routine issues as they arise.
7. Escalate complex or high-impact issues to the supervisor when appropriate.
8. Maintain accurate records and ensure billing documentation is complete and up to date.
Qualifications:
1. Previous billing or administrative experience is preferred but not required.
2. Healthcare industry experience is a plus but is not necessary.
3. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
4. Ability to think outside the box and develop practical solutions when standard processes do not resolve an issue.
5. Comfortable troubleshooting unfamiliar situations without becoming overwhelmed.
6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with clear phone communication and minimal accent preferred for frequent interactions with therapists.
8. Proficient with computers and able to learn new software quickly.
