Staffstream is hiring a Bid Pricing Estimator for a growing Australian facilities services business. They run large-scale cleaning, hygiene, and building maintenance contracts for commercial and industrial clients, and they need someone to own the pricing function end to end.
You'll be reading tender documents, building cost models, and making sure every submission is commercially sound and competitive. This role sits at the intersection of sales, finance, and operations, and works closely with the Bid Manager day to day.
Important: This is not a construction estimating or quantity surveying role. This is service-contract pricing - think recurring cleaning and maintenance agreements, SLA-based models, and volume-driven pricing. What you'll do
- Own the pricing and estimating function for tender submissions, from scoping through to final pricing schedules.
- Review tender documents to identify cost drivers, pricing assumptions, and margin considerations.
- Build accurate, competitive cost models using internal pricing calculators and established methodologies.
- Assess contract margins and recommend pricing strategy for competitive bids.
- Track bid deadlines and make sure pricing submissions go out accurately and on time.
- Maintain version control and documentation of pricing schedules across active tenders.
- Support tender administration: sourcing documents from the Bid Library, editing standard company and compliance details, formatting, and file prep.
What you need to bring
- Experience in a pricing, estimating, or commercial analyst role within a service-based industry.
- Solid understanding of recurring, SLA-based, or volume-driven pricing models.
- Proficiency in Excel for building and maintaining pricing/cost models.
- Strong commercial acumen - you can assess margins and price competitively, not just fill in numbers.
- Attention to detail under deadline pressure.
Nice to have
- Background in cleaning, facilities management, security, hygiene, waste management, or property services.
- Experience in logistics, freight, or supply chain pricing where contract-based pricing is the norm.
- Procurement or buying experience with exposure to service contract pricing.
- BPO or managed services background pricing multi-year, SLA-based agreements.
