Basketball Content Editor - Sports

The Basketball Content Editor will produce and manage written basketball content for Alta Sports, covering breaking news, game reports, previews, analysis, features, and other basketball-related stories.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and edit basketball news, game reports, previews, analysis, and feature stories.
• Monitor local and international basketball developments.
• Cover major leagues and competitions, including PBA, UAAP, NCAA, NBA, WNBA, FIBA, and other relevant tournaments.
• Produce timely content during live games and breaking news situations.
• Verify information, statistics, quotes, and other relevant details before publication.
• Coordinate with video producers and social media teams.
• Adapt stories into social media-friendly formats.
• Maintain Alta Sports editorial standards and tone.

Qualifications

• At least 2–3 years of professional sports writing/editing experience.
• Strong basketball knowledge.
• Excellent English writing and editing skills.
• Strong research and fact-checking abilities.
• Ability to work quickly under deadline pressure.
• Experience with CMS/content publishing platforms is preferred.
• Journalism, communications, or related background is an advantage.
