Backend Engineer

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Backend Engineer based in Manila, with the flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. As a Backend Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain efficient and scalable backend systems. You will be responsible for developing APIs, ensuring system reliability and security, optimizing database performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Providing technical support and troubleshooting are also key aspects of this role.

• Proficiency in backend development, with experience in languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, or Go
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience working with APIs, microservices architecture, and RESTful web services
• Knowledge of database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL
• Expertise in testing, debugging, and maintaining backend systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks is a plus
• Understanding of version control systems like Git
