Backend Developer

The Mission

We are currently running a TypeScript monolith, this will change over time. You will work alongside our Senior Full Stack engineer to simplify complex logic and improve system performance.

The Challenges You Will Solve:

Refactoring & Optimization: You will identify bottlenecks and write code that runs faster and leaner. You will collaborate and break down our existing monolith into cleaner, modular microservices.

Database Performance: We rely heavily on PostgreSQL. You will be responsible for designing better table relationships, writing efficient queries, and ensuring our data schema makes sense.

Safety & Security: You will implement strict security standards and manage complex data transactions. You must ensure that financial and user data is handled with ACID complianceno race conditions, no corrupted data.

Future-Proofing: While we use Node.js today, we are moving toward Go (Golang) for high-performance services and AWS for infrastructure. You will help us build this future.

Who We Are Looking For

Strong JavaScript/TypeScript Fundamentals: You have 3+ years of experience building logic-heavy backend applications using Node.js.

PostgreSQL Depth: You understand relational databases deeply. You know how to use indexing to speed up searches, how to structure foreign keys correctly, and how to write raw SQL when necessary.

Security Mindset: You treat security as a requirement, not a feature. You understand how to prevent common vulnerabilities and how to manage secure, atomic transactions.

DevOps Collaboration: You are ready to be hands-on with infrastructure. You will collaborate with the Senior dev to set up and manage our pipelines and eventual AWS environment.

Language Agility: You are proficient in JS/TS but you are excited to learn and write production code in Go (Golang).
