Azure / Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer / Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable cloud-based data platforms, pipelines, and analytics solutions using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric technologies.

The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and modern data engineering practices including ETL/ELT design, orchestration, Medallion architecture, and secure cloud data platform implementation. The role requires expertise in building reliable and scalable enterprise data solutions that support analytics and business intelligence initiatives.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, OneLake, Pipelines, Dataflows)
• Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
• Azure Synapse Analytics
• Experience in building data pipelines, orchestration frameworks, and workflow automation.
• Strong notebook development experience using PySpark and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with ETL / ELT design and implementation.
• Strong SQL development and performance tuning skills.
• Experience implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold layers).
• Experience using Azure Key Vault for secure secrets management.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices for cloud data platforms.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Exposure to Power BI and analytics platforms is an advantage.
• Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric certifications preferred.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end cloud-based data platforms and data pipelines.
• Build and support ETL/ELT processes across Microsoft Fabric and Azure environments.
• Develop and manage Microsoft Fabric solutions including Lakehouse, OneLake, Pipelines, and Dataflows.
• Design and implement scalable Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers) for enterprise data processing.
• Develop and maintain notebooks using PySpark and SQL for data transformation and analytics workloads.
• Build and manage orchestration pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Fabric Pipelines.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and relational data models.
• Integrate and manage data across Azure Data Lake Storage, Synapse Analytics, and enterprise data sources.
• Implement secure secrets and credential management using Azure Key Vault.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for data engineering solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance of data ingestion, transformation, and processing layers.
• Ensure adherence to data governance, security, compliance, and platform reliability standards.
• Collaborate with analytics, reporting, and business teams to deliver scalable and high-quality data solutions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and deployment standards.
