Azure Cloud Architect

Job Summary

The Azure Cloud Architect is responsible for overseeing and managing the Firm's cloud infrastructure and operations. This strategic role includes maintaining front-end platforms, servers, storage, and network systems within the cloud environment, with a particular focus on Microsoft Azure. The architect ensures that cloud solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs.

Responsibilities:

Perform system administration tasks such as monitoring system and network performance, resolving issues, managing user accounts, and coordinating with other IT groups.
Actively manage Azure cloud accounts and advise on infrastructure support while collaborating with developers and architects across departments.
Help define and contribute to the Firm's long-term cloud strategy and roadmap.
Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors, particularly in areas like big data, to support cloud initiatives.
Evaluate new cloud technologies for their potential value, especially in terms of cost efficiency and strategic advantage.
Conduct regular capacity planning reviews to ensure system resources meet organizational demands.
Redesign or refresh cloud solutions to adapt to evolving business requirements.
Lead IT Engineering projects and ensure timely, on-budget delivery of solutions that meet business expectations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM-related field.
2–7 years of experience in systems administration or cloud engineering.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform is essential.
Knowledge and experience in virtualization technologies.
Understanding of core networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and firewalls.
Ability to translate architectural requirements into effective cloud solutions.
Proficiency in deploying, managing, and operating scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems.
Skill in selecting appropriate cloud services based on data, compute, or security needs.
Capability to estimate cloud usage costs and apply strategies for cost control.
Experience migrating on-premises servers and services to the cloud.
