Job Description
The Azure Cloud Architect is responsible for managing and optimizing the firm's cloud engineering environment. The role plays a key part in ensuring the stability, scalability, and efficiency of cloud infrastructure, including front-end systems, servers, storage, and network management.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform system administration tasks such as monitoring system and network performance, troubleshooting issues, managing user accounts, and maintaining tracking systems, while coordinating with internal IT teams.
- Manage Azure cloud environments and provide recommendations to improve infrastructure, working closely with developers and architects across different teams.
- Contribute to the development of the organization's long-term cloud strategy and multi-year roadmap.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support cloud, big data, and related initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and assess their suitability, focusing on cost efficiency and business value.
- Conduct regular capacity planning and performance assessments.
- Enhance or redesign existing cloud solutions to align with evolving business requirements.
- Lead IT engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope, budget, and resource constraints.
- Engage in client-facing responsibilities, including providing technical support and ensuring compliance with frameworks such as NIST and ISO.
- Manage client interactions, including meetings, inquiries, and relationship building.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field
- 2–7 years of experience in systems administration or cloud engineering
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure (required)
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Ability to translate architectural requirements into technical solutions
- Experience deploying and managing scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems
- Ability to select appropriate cloud services based on compute, data, and security needs
- Experience in estimating cloud usage costs and implementing cost optimization strategies
- Experience in migrating on-premise systems to cloud environments
