Automation SME (Ansible & Python)

Job Description:

Automation SME – (Ansible & Python) Position Overview We are looking for a mid-level Automation SME with strong expertise in Ansible and Python scripting to design, implement, and maintain automation solutions for Observability platforms. The candidate will manage existing automation frameworks, develop new playbooks and scripts, and drive continuous improvement for monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Development & Maintenance

>Build and maintain Ansible playbooks for deploying and configuring observability tools (Prometheus, ELK, etc.).

>Develop Python scripts for automating log ingestion, metric collection, and alerting workflows.

>Enhance existing automation pipelines for scalability and reliability.

Observability Platform Automation

>Automate provisioning and configuration of monitoring agents, log collectors, and tracing components.

>Implement automation for MELT (Metrics, Events, Logs, Traces) data flow across OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters.

>Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines for observability deployments.

Continuous Improvement

>Identify manual processes in observability operations and propose automation solutions. >Optimize scripts and playbooks for performance and maintainability.

>Document automation standards and best practices.

Integration & Troubleshooting

>Integrate automation with ITSM tools (ServiceNow) and AIOps platforms.

>Troubleshoot automation failures and provide root cause analysis.

Required Skills & Experience:

>Experience Range: 4–7 years in automation and observability roles.

>Hands-on experience with Ansible (roles, inventories, modules) and Python scripting.

>Strong understanding of observability tools (APPD, Datadog, Instana, Prometheus, ELK, Dynatrace). • Familiarity with Linux administration, YAML, JSON, and REST APIs.

>Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab) and Git version control.

Preferred Skills:

>Experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes automation.

>Exposure to AIOps platforms and event correlation.
