The Role & Your Impact

We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join our Assure team.

This is a 12-month contract, 100% remote, and open only to applicants based in the Philippines, with contract renewal reviews every 12 months.

In this role, you will focus primarily on building and maintaining automated test coverage across UI, API, and end-to-end workflows. You will design scalable automation frameworks, uplift automation maturity across the product, and directly contribute to reducing regression risk, improving release quality, and accelerating delivery.

You will be work in collaboration with one other experienced QA Engineer, as well as the engineering team and a Senior Product Manager, with oversight from the Head of Product & Engineering. Your contribution will have a direct impact on the reliability, scalability, and performance of the Assure platform.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for UI, API, and E2E workflows.
• Convert requirements, designs, and user stories into automated test scenarios with clear traceability.
• Build and maintain automated regression, functional, and integration test suites used within CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyse automated test results, identify failures, and collaborate with engineers to resolve defects.
• Perform targeted manual testing where automation is not yet feasible.
• Contribute to sprint ceremonies and collaborate closely with engineering and product teams.
• Provide insights on automation coverage, gaps, and release readiness.
• Recommend and implement improvements to test frameworks, tooling, and automation strategy.
• Partner with engineers to uplift testability, observability, and deployment quality.

What You'll Bring (Skills & Capabilities)

• 5+ years of software testing experience, with strong hands-on experience in automation for at least 2 years.
• Practical experience using automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Appium, or similar.
• Strong hands-on experience with API testing and API automation (REST, GraphQL).
• Understanding of automation principles including framework design, CI/CD integration, and test strategy.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and translate it into automated test cases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written communication skills and familiarity with Jira/Confluence.
• A growth mindset and willingness to learn new frameworks and technologies.
• Strong attention to detail and a customer-centric mindset.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in distributed, remote-first teams.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build processes.
• Basic SQL knowledge for test data validation.
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6).
