What You'll Do
- Oversee and deliver the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant processing of the fortnightly payroll cycle.
- Manage leave reconciliation, deductions, pay adjustments, month-end accounting, and associated payment processes.
- Develop, implement, and drive strategic direction, performance, and sustainability of the payroll function, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Identify and implement system and process improvements, including cost–benefit analysis, training, and change management support.
- Produce accurate ad-hoc and scheduled payroll reports to support business needs.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, providing expert payroll advice and timely query resolution.
- Partner with the People team to ensure payroll compliance with employment agreements, industry awards, and organizational requirements.
- Ensure adherence to risk management, governance, audit standards, and payroll-related policies and procedures.
Key Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of experience in Australian Payroll with end-to-end payroll processing
- Excellent understanding of payroll legislative requirements (Awards, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, PAYG, Workers Compensation)
- Experience with other functions of accounting would be highly advantageous.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Knowledge of payroll systems, with exposure to Aurion and Workday (desirable).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; high attention to detail, strong quality control, and effective documentation management.
Work setup
- Manila (BGC, Taguig): Australian hours (6:00 AM–3:00 PM PHT) with a hybrid setup (2 days onsite, 3 days remote)
