Job Description

This is a rare opportunity to work as a dedicated Accountant within an established Australian accounting practice, handling a real portfolio of small business clients from your home office in the Philippines. If you have hands-on Australian tax and compliance experience and you know MYOB inside out, this role was built for someone at your level.

The Role

You will take ownership of tax compliance, financial reporting, and payroll processing for a portfolio of small business clients spanning sole traders, partnerships, companies, and trusts. This is not a support role or a data-entry function — you will be working directly on client deliverables under the direction of the principal, with the scope and accountability of a seasoned practitioner. The work is technically demanding, deadline-driven, and exactly what a serious accountant wants to be doing.

What You Will Do

Prepare and lodge tax returns, BAS, and IAS for small business clients across multiple entity types within firm deadlines.

Prepare financial statements for small business clients to professional and regulatory standards.

Process and post data from Xero and QuickBooks into MYOB systems via manual journals.

Handle end-to-end payroll processing for small business clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Prepare accounts for small business clients working under the direction of the principal.

Log all working hours daily against client jobs, administrative tasks, research, and training in NPM Practice Manager.

What You Bring

Proficiency in MYOB is essential and non-negotiable — this is the core platform for the role.

Minimum three years of practical, hands-on Australian accounting experience covering tax compliance and financial reporting.

Working experience with Accountants Office (AO) tax software.

Experience using NPM Practice Manager for time and job tracking.

Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to accuracy under deadline pressure.

The ability to work independently and manage your own workload with minimal supervision.

Work Arrangement

This is a full work-from-home role. You will work from your own home office.

Staff X offers long-term, stable employment with genuine career growth.

Commitment

This is a full-time, dedicated role.

The client and Staff X invest heavily in onboarding, training, and integrating this person into a long-term team.

We are looking for someone who is ready to commit fully, not someone exploring a side arrangement, managing multiple clients, or running parallel freelance work. If you are currently freelancing and not ready to step into a single dedicated role, this is not the right opportunity for you. If you have a full-time job and are looking for a second income, please do not apply.

The right person for this role genuinely wants a stable, long-term career with a single employer who invests in their growth.

This is a permanent position. We hire people we intend to keep for years, not months.
