The Audit Excellence and Pre-implementation Reviews Auditor drives internal audit quality, operational excellence, and proactive risk management. This professional will evaluate controls before new software, facilities, or business initiatives are deployed to prevent costly post-implementation failures.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Implementation Reviews:
- Perform rigorous risk assessments and feasibility checks on proposed system implementations, policy changes, and major operational rollouts before deployment.
- Review and approve the Risk and Control Matrix (RCM) for new projects to ensure adequate internal controls and data integrity.
- Analyze cross-functional dependencies and appraise whether the proposed systems meet compliance, regulatory, and business continuity standards.
Audit Excellence & Quality Assurance:
- Oversee the full audit lifecycle, ensuring that all fieldwork, working papers, and reporting align with IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) standards.
- Manage engagement quality, reviewing audit deliverables, and ensuring findings are thoroughly vetted before management submission.
- Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manuals to guarantee that Quality remains at the forefront of the organizational culture.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
- Prepare comprehensive reports identifying potential control deficiencies and propose value-added corrective measures.
- Collaborate directly with senior management and process owners to ensure successful adoption of recommended changes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or Information Systems.
- Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum (3-5) years of experience in internal auditing, IT audit, or management consulting, particularly in change management or system deployment.
- Skills: Strong analytical mindset, proficiency with data analytics and ERP systems, and excellent written and verbal communication.
