Job Overview
The Audit Supervisor may perform some of the duties of Senior Associate depending on the nature of
the client assignment. If applicable, maybe assigned to review and evaluate the work of other staff on
client engagements or within the team.
Job Responsibilities
- Audit financial statements of fund clients and assess accounts for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Assess risk management tactics.
- Coordinate various phases of engagements, plan engagements, budget time and expenses, monitor actual performance against budget, review work papers for accuracy and completeness, and review financial statements for suitability of presentation and adequacy of disclosures
- Report systematic errors or fraud indicators.
- Responsible for the daily supervision and development of Senior Associate
- Explain audit findings and recommend solutions.
- Take full ownership and responsibility for all aspects of the assurance engagement from planning to report issuance, to closing the binder
- Handles review and evaluation of tasks performed by assigned direct reports.
- Assists in other technical projects as directed.
- Participates in proper planning and scheduling of work assignments for team members on client engagements or within the team.
- Works with client's personnel and fund administrator in providing the services necessary to meet client's needs.
- Demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness in handling client's problems.
- Can be involved in the recruitment process of other team members through interviews to assess the required level of competency for a specific engagement or client. And able to provide recommendations for the final interview with the hiring manager.
- Demonstrate potential leadership, sound business judgement and administrative capability.
- Participate in level training for junior staff.
- Participate in coaching sessions with counselees.
- Participate actively in staff meetings and professional development work.
Job Qualifications
- A CPA
- Has at least five (5) years of work experience in auditing
- Has knowledge of fund accounting related to hedge funds, fund of funds and private equity funds
- Has at least two (2) years of experience in the Alternative Investments Industry and US GAAP financial reporting
- Has experience in reviewing and evaluating tasks of other team members.
- Has experience in handling and supervising a team.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, in a highly automated environment, with strict monthly reporting deadlines.
- Is willing to extend himself beyond the immediate demands of the assignment and to accept new responsibilities
