ROLE PURPOSE
The Digital and AI Transformation Project Lead is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and delivery of automation and AI-enabled solutions across audit engagements. The role drives digital transformation initiatives, ensuring that tools and solutions enhance audit efficiency and quality while complying with professional standards, firm policies, and AI governance requirements, including human oversight and appropriate documentation.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of digital and AI transformation initiatives within the audit practice.
- Design, develop, and implement automation and AI solutions supporting audit processes including risk assessment, data analytics, and reporting.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations for AI and automation initiatives.
- Oversee data extraction, transformation, and analysis to support audit analytics and insights.
- Develop dashboards and visualisations to communicate audit findings and trends.
- Support engagement teams in adopting and applying automation and AI tools in audit procedures.
- Ensure tools are used appropriately, with validation of outputs and retention of professional judgement.
- Ensure compliance with AI governance requirements, including data privacy, security, and documentation standards.
- Develop training materials and conduct learning sessions to drive adoption of digital tools.
- Collaborate with audit, IT, and quality teams to align solutions with firm standards and methodology.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in audit analytics, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience managing projects and implementing technology solutions within a professional services environment is preferred.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Strong understanding of audit processes and integration of analytics and automation.
- Proficiency in data tools such as SQL, Python, and Power BI or similar platforms.
- Project management skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders.
- Understanding of AI concepts and audit-related use cases.
- Awareness of AI risks including data privacy, bias, and explainability.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to translate technical solutions into practical audit applications.
