Job Description

As an AU Tax Manager, you'll handle end-to-end tax compliance and advisory services for Australian entities, drive process improvements, provide strategic insights, and mentor junior professionals-all while ensuring regulatory accuracy and client success.

The Qualifications We Seek

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of taxation experience in a public accounting or advisory firm, including at least 2 years of hands-on Australian taxation work
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Australian tax laws, ATO regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team in a professional accounting environment
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective client and team collaboration
  • Proficiency in accounting and tax software such as Xero, MYOB, and HandiTax
  • Willingness to work onsite and collaborate closely with the local team and clients

Preferred

  • Exposure to international tax or transfer pricing
  • Experience in both compliance and advisory engagements
  • CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent)

Your Daily Tasks

  • Oversee the end-to-end preparation and lodgment of Australian tax returns, including corporate, trust, individual, and partnership entities
  • Deliver strategic tax planning and advisory services, ensuring full compliance with ATO regulations and maximizing client outcomes
  • Analyze and interpret complex tax legislation, offering clear, practical guidance to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax compliance and planning activities
  • Lead, coach, and develop junior tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with local and overseas accounting, superannuation, and wealth teams to provide seamless, integrated client service
  • Support and represent clients during tax audits and regulatory reviews, ensuring accurate responses and positive outcomes
