Your Role:
As a AU Tax Accountant You Will
- Prepare income tax returns and financial statements tailored to Australian oil and gas reporting standards.
- Reconcile balance sheets and profit and loss accounts with a focus on high-value industry assets.
- Process journal entries for complex transactions, including equipment depreciation and fuel tax credits.
- Generate bookkeeping reports that track operational costs and multi-site financial performance.
- Manage reconciliations for industry-specific billing, including distributor income and fuel rebates.
What You Need:
Non-negotiables
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Australian accounting, preferably within energy or industrial sectors.
- Advanced proficiency in the Xero accounting system.
- Strong knowledge of Australian GST, fuel tax credits, and industry-specific tax obligations.
- Expertise in reconciling large-scale accounts with significant transactional volumes.
Preferred Skills/ Expertise
- Prior experience accounting for oil, gas, or national fuel retail networks.
- Understanding of joint venture accounting or complex distribution partnership structures.
- Familiarity with Xero-integrated inventory or asset management plugins.
- Experience handling supplier rebates and multi-entity financial consolidations.
- High attention to detail regarding environmental and safety-related financial compliance.
