Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for multiple clients across various industries
- Ensure compliance with Australian payroll regulations, including awards, PAYG withholding, superannuation, Single Touch Payroll (STP), and payroll tax requirements
- Interpret modern awards and employment agreements to ensure accurate payroll processing
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, including final pay computations and entitlements
- Prepare and distribute payslips, payroll reports, and ABA payment files
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts and assist with month-end reporting
- Handle payroll queries from clients and employees in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and documentation
- Support the bookkeeping and accounting teams with payroll-related tasks as required
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years payroll experience, preferably within an accounting firm or handling multiple entities/clients
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Hands-on experience with payroll systems such as Xero Payroll, MYOB, and QuickBooks
- Proficient in MYOB for Payroll processing
- Familiarity with Fair Work regulations and ATO requirements is an advantage.
- Proven experience interpreting awards and employment entitlements
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
