Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for multiple clients across various industries
  • Ensure compliance with Australian payroll regulations, including awards, PAYG withholding, superannuation, Single Touch Payroll (STP), and payroll tax requirements
  • Interpret modern awards and employment agreements to ensure accurate payroll processing
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, including final pay computations and entitlements
  • Prepare and distribute payslips, payroll reports, and ABA payment files
  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts and assist with month-end reporting
  • Handle payroll queries from clients and employees in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and documentation
  • Support the bookkeeping and accounting teams with payroll-related tasks as required

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years payroll experience, preferably within an accounting firm or handling multiple entities/clients
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems such as Xero Payroll, MYOB, and QuickBooks
  • Proficient in MYOB for Payroll processing
  • Familiarity with Fair Work regulations and ATO requirements is an advantage.
  • Proven experience interpreting awards and employment entitlements
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
