As a
Senior Accountant, you are a technical cornerstone for our Australian-based clients. This role is designed for an A-star professional who brings the WOW factor through a passion for precision and a deep mastery of the Australian tax landscape. You won't just be crunching numbers; you will be acting as a trusted advisor, managing complex compliance for a variety of entities, and ensuring every lodgment is optimized and accurate.
Your Impact
- Advanced Tax & Compliance: Take full ownership of the preparation and lodgment of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS). You ensure 100% compliance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations and meet all statutory deadlines with ease.
- Financial Statement Mastery: Reconcile complex accounts and prepare high-quality financial statements. Utilizing your expertise in Xero Tax, you will prepare tax returns for companies, individuals, partnerships, and trusts.
- Strategic Advisory: Provide expert advice on GST, PAYG, and other tax-related matters. You serve as the primary liaison with the ATO on behalf of clients, resolving BAS-related issues and maintaining the integrity of financial records.
- Client Empowerment: Assist clients with specialized bookkeeping and accounting tasks. You will provide essential training and support on accounting software, helping clients understand their financial position and BAS obligations.
- Continuous Technical Leadership: Stay at the forefront of changes in Australian tax laws and regulations. You work independently to manage multiple clients, ensuring that all financial records remain accurate, up-to-date, and professional.
What You Bring
- The Experience:Minimum 5 years of solid experience in bookkeeping or accounting, specifically supporting the Australian market. You have a proven track record of handling high-level tax obligations and complex entity structures.
- Technical Mastery: Expert proficiency in Xero (including Xero Tax), MYOB, or QuickBooks. You possess a comprehensive understanding of GST, PAYG, and Australian reporting standards.
- The Mindset: A highly organized professional with an uncompromising eye for detail. You bring a high level of integrity to your work and possess the interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships with international clients.
- Communication Prowess: Excellent verbal and written English skills, essential for liaising with the ATO and providing clear, actionable advice to Australian stakeholders.
