Do you take pride in a perfectly reconciled ledger and a BAS that lodges clean the first time This role puts you at the center of day-to-day bookkeeping across a portfolio of Australian client accounts, where your accuracy directly shapes the quality of service delivered to every business the team supports.

You'll work closely with Client Managers in a specialist finance team, owning transactions, reconciliations, and compliance work in Xero. It's a role for someone who follows a process carefully, catches what others miss, and wants to deepen their Australian bookkeeping expertise. Your shift aligns with Melbourne business hours and adjusts with Australian daylight saving changes.

YOU'RE LIKELY A STRONG FIT IF YOU HAVE

• Hands-on experience with Australian GST, BAS, and IAS preparation
• Extensive, day-to-day experience working in Xero
• A degree in Accounting and/or a Philippine CPA license
• Solid experience in accounts payable, bank reconciliation, and supplier statement reconciliation
• A detail-oriented, process-driven approach and the discipline to check your work before it moves forward
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication with managers and team members

STRONG SIGNALS

• Experience preparing and processing Australian payroll and superannuation
• Familiarity with Award compliance and Single Touch Payroll (STP) requirements
• Experience reconciling wages and superannuation accounts
• Working knowledge of Dext or Hubdoc for bill and receipt capture
• Exposure to Karbon or Xero Practice Manager (XPM)
• Experience with Employment Hero Payroll or Fathom
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, IF statements, and lookups

RESPONSIBILITY PILLARS

Transaction Management and Accounts Payable

• You own the day-to-day flow of transactions across multiple client accounts, keeping payables accurate and on time.
• Manage client bills and invoices in Dext and Xero
• Complete regular bank reconciliations across client files
• Prepare supplier batch payments for review and release
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare the Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR)

BAS and Payroll Compliance

• You ensure every client's compliance obligations are prepared accurately and ready for lodgement.
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
• Reconcile GST and PAYG Withholding accounts
• Support payroll and superannuation processing where required
• Help maintain Award and Single Touch Payroll compliance
• Reconcile wages and superannuation accounts

Monthly Account Review and Record Integrity

• You maintain clean, reliable records that the wider team can confidently build on.
• Review client accounts monthly to confirm all balance sheet accounts are reconciled
• Verify revenue and expenses are coded correctly
• Ensure project tracking is assigned accurately
• Flag issues early and communicate clearly with Client Managers
• Follow established processes and suggest improvements to accuracy and workflow
