Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented
AustralianBookkeeper to support the finance operations across two business entities. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing bank reconciliations, processing accounts payable, and assisting with compliance reporting. The ideal candidate has experience with Australian bookkeeping practices, MYOB, and enjoys identifying discrepancies while contributing to continuous process improvements within a collaborative finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular bank and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities using MYOB.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in bank transactions and financial records.
- Process supplier invoices accurately and ensure timely accounts payable processing.
- Match invoices to payments and maintain accurate supplier records.
- Maintain complete and accurate bookkeeping records across both business entities.
- Assist in the preparation of BAS, PAYG Withholding, and Payroll Tax documentation for finance team review.
- Support compliance reporting and other ad hoc bookkeeping tasks as required.
- Identify recurring financial discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve reconciliation and reporting processes.
- Ensure financial records are accurate, compliant, and up to date.
Requirements Job Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 2–4 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably supporting Australian businesses.
- Experience with Australian bookkeeping and accounting requirements.
- Hands-on experience using MYOB.
- Strong experience in bank reconciliations and Accounts Payable processing.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing or assisting with BAS, PAYG Withholding, and Payroll Tax.
- Experience managing multiple entities or client files.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate financial discrepancies.
- Ability to work independently in a remote and collaborative team environment.
