Role Overview:
As an Associate Security Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring systems, identifying potential threats, and supporting incident analysis. You'll work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure the security and integrity of client systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor internal proprietary detection systems for new and emerging threats
- Validate and investigate flagged malicious activities
- Review and respond to attack reports from clients and their customers
- Analyze potential attack vectors and recommend mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security measures
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and clients
- Utilize various tools including DNS tools, WhoIs records, and open-source platforms
- Perform basic scripting and analysis using Bash, Go, Python, and Linux environments
Qualifications:
- Relevant education or experience in IT, cybersecurity, or related field preferred
- Understanding of internet fundamentals (IP subnetting, DNS, TLDs, HTTP, SMTP, etc.)
- Knowledge of common cyber threats (fraud, phishing, social engineering, scams, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic experience with Unix/Linux command line
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
